Ambassador Guo Shaochun Meets with Chairperson of ZANU-PF and Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri

On April 4th, Ambassador Guo met with Oppah Muchinguri, Chairperson of Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) and Zimbabwean Defense Minister, exchanging views on the China-Zimbabwe relations and inter-party exchanges.

Ambassador Guo called it a great honor to serve as Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe at an important period of China-Zimbabwe relations. The two countries enjoy a long history of friendship. In recent years, bilateral political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation in various fields have been continuously strengthened. Traditional friendship between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and ZANU-PF have also been further deepened. China is ready to promote pragmatic cooperation, share development experience and advance relations between the two parties and the two countries under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), helping Zimbabwe to achieve its Vision 2030.

Muchinguri warmly welcomed Ambassador Guo. Zimbabwe-China relations have ushered into a new era with huge potential and important opportunities. Both ZANU-PF and the CPC successfully led their national liberation and are committed to national development and improving people's living standards. ZANU-PF values its friendship with the CPC and appreciates the achievements China has made under the leadership of the CPC. ZANU-PF will continue to maintain high-level exchanges with the CPC, exchange views on stronger party building and national governance, and promote the national development and China-Zimbabwe relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on security cooperation.
