Chinese Ambassador Huang Ping Met with Vice President Mnangagwa

On May 11, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr. Huang Ping met with Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the office of the Vice President, during which they exchanged views on China-Zimbabwe relations as well as international and regional issues of common interest.

Ambassador Huang briefed VP Mnangagwa on the latest development of China-Zimbabwe relations, especially the progress in implementing the outcome of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s State Visit to Zimbabwe and FOCAC Johannesburg Summit, as well as the emergency food donation to Zimbabwe by the Chinese government. Ambassador Huang expressed his hope that the two sides should keep on close cooperation in implementing the outcome of the State Visit and the FOCAC summit so as to push the bilateral relations to a new high.

VP Mnangagwa thanked the Chinese government for the food donation, and introduced Zimbabwe’s proposals on the priority projects under the framework of FOCAC. He assured Ambassador Huang that the Zimbabwean side will cooperate with its Chinese counterpart in implementing the projects agreed by the two sides and further deepening the bilateral relations.

After the meeting, Ambassador Huang was interviewed by journalists from ZBC and Herald.
