A: The landing of the Japanese right-wing group on the Diaoyu Islands is a grave violation of China’s territorial sovereignty. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy in Japan have been instructed to lodge solemn representations and strong protest to the Japanese side respectively.

The Diaoyu Islands and its adjacent islets have been an integral part of China since ancient times. The Chinese side has indisputable historic and legal evidence on this. Any unilateral action regarding the Diaoyu Islands taken by the Japanese side is illegal and invalid. Such actions can not alter the basic fact that the Diaoyu Islands are the integral territory of China.

We solemnly request the Japanese side to immediately take effective measures to remove the impacts of the landing and prevent the reoccurrence of similar incidents in the future.
