Notice for Foreign nationals visiting China to take nucleic acid tests for covid-19 before departure

To ensure the health and safety of international travel and to reduce the risk of cross-border spread of the epidemic, Chinese government has officially announced that passengers who are to fly to China are required to obtain COVID-19 negative certificates before boarding.

I. From 18 August 2020, passengers who are to fly to China from Zimbabwe are required to take nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 within five days before boarding. From 1 September 2020, passengers who are to fly to China from Zimbabwe are required to take nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 within three days before boarding. The tests should be taken at institutions designated or recognized by Zimbabwean government and the Chinese Embassy. Currently the designated institutions are:
1,Lancet Clinical Laboratories

2,Pathology Laboratories

3,Cimas Medlabs

II. Foreign passengers are required to present their COVID-19 negative certificates to Chinese Embassy to apply for Health Declaration Forms (See attachment for details,Download Link: http://www.chinaembassy.org.zw/chn/zysxtx/P020200808584036720066.pdf       ). Specific procedure is as follows:

1. Prepare the copies of passport, Health Declaration Forms filled in and signed by the applicant, and the COVID-19 negative certificate, and email to Chinese Embassy (consulate_zwe@mfa.gov.cn). Applicants may also bring their COVID-19 negative certificates and copies of passport to the Chinese Embassy to apply for Health Declaration Forms on the spot.

2. If the submitted documents are verified without problem, the passenger will receive an email attached with the stamped Health Declaration Form marking the date of validity.

3. Print out the form and show it to the check-in staff of Airlines executing the flights from Zimbabwe directly or indirectly to China for check before boarding. Passengers who do not meet the above requirements will not be allowed on board.

III. It is clarified hereby that a certified Health Declaration Form is not an alternative to a Chinese visa. Foreign passengers may apply for the Health Declaration Forms before, during or after submitting the visa application.

IV. According to the agreements on mutual visa exemption between China and foreign countries, some foreign nationals may enter China without visas, but they still need to apply for Health Declaration Forms before departure.
